New contracts with major oil and gas companies and a strong prospect for growth have created a need to hire a social consultant with broad skills, international experience, an ambition for growth and ability to develop and manage new business. The successful candidate will be one of among the first employees of this growth-oriented organization and will join our existing, highly regarded Houston staff either on a contract or full-time basis. Desired skills and qualities include:
· Minimum of 10 years consulting to international industry
· Experience in oil and gas
· Experience in performing and leading Social Impact Assessment, baseline studies, due diligence assessment and related services
· Experience developing and leading public consultation and disclosure, stakeholder engagement and social responsibility programs, human rights assessments, grievance mechanisms and related processes
· Ability to develop new business in this field
· Strong client relations
· Strong professional work ethic, initiative and integrity
· Willingness to travel to and work in developing countries on short (normally one week or less) assignments
· Ability to provide direction to teams of experts from partner companies in other countries
· Ability to accomplish work assignments without extensive direction
· Ability to communicate in foreign language(s) is a strong plus.
