Acorn International, LLC was formed in October 2005. Acorn is a company dedicated to
delivering superior value to international industries by providing affordable, world-class
environmental, health, safety, and sustainability (EHSS) assurance consulting services
for overseas development projects. The company operates not through a traditional
consulting services model but by providing structured tools and coordination to
qualified host-country teams, maintaining a link with international clients and
building capacity in the host-country team. Three critical elements make this model
work:

Former Director and VP of two of the largest international consulting firms

Opened offices, developed staff and partnerships, and led capacity building worldwide

Led $19million consulting program for one of the world’s largest oil and gas companies
•
Led Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and related studies for large World Bank,
OPIC, and other multilateral bank financed development programs
•
Proficiency in Spanish, with competence in Portuguese, French and Greek; experience in
20+ countries

Acorn has a network of qualified consultants (partners) in Latin America, Africa, FSU, and
Asia that can be contracted directly by my industrial clients.

Acorn will provide structured tools and coordination to help ensure a quality product on
schedule, while delivering measurable capacity building for partners.

Established protocols and tools

A suite of protocols, checklists, and standard methods called “EHSSAssurance
TM
" was
developed by Acorn to assure standard processes are used for EIA, Environmental
Baseline Studies, Environmental Management System Assessments, and Environmental
Due Diligence Studies.

EIAAssurance, for example, is an 8-step process to direct and oversee environmental
impact assessment – it includes pro-forma protocols for EIA terms of reference,
information requirements, execution plan, and impact rating system.
Working with Acorn will allow international industries to better manage the increasingly
delicate balance between meeting corporate requirements for reliable, simplified service
while satisfying host-country demands for maximum local content.
