Acorn International is pleased to announce that two of our staff have been selected to participate in the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) International Health, Safety and Environmental conference, to be held in Nice, France in April 2008.
- Atma Khalsa (Consultant) has been selected to present his paper “Next Generation Stakeholder Engagement: Balancing International Best Practices and In-Country Leadership" in the Stakeholder Engagement session of the conference on April 15. Atma’s paper was selected by a peer review committee from among hundreds of paper abstracts that were submitted by professionals worldwide. The paper presents an approach to improving stakeholder engagement practices overseas by integrating global best practices and lessons learned with the commitment to relying on and building the capacity of local, in-country resources to lead on-going interactions.
- Dean Slocum has been appointed to co-chair a session on Monitoring and Reporting. The Session will include presentations by industry experts from the Oil and Gas Producers Forum,Total, TTI Production Company, and Akvamiljo, a contract laboratory in Azerbaijan on emerging practices in monitoring and reporting the environmental performance of the oil and gas industry worldwide.
SPE is the premier industry organization of over 70,000 members supporting the technical interests of global oil and gas exploration and production activities. Acorn is proud to be an active participant in SPE, including serving as a member of the Environmental Subcommittee for six SPE International HSE conferences over the last 10 years.
